Gliophorus viridis – ‘Verdigris Waxcap’

This small but stunning species is vibrant green in colour and may be found in both Australia and New Zealand. The painting itself is inspired by flora and fauna of Tasmania and includes a pink robin, ferns and moss.

It actually looks very similar to another little green mushy found in Australia called Gliophorus graminicolor. If there are any fungi experts out there, I’d love to know more about if these species are closely related, or just happen to look very similar!
