๐Ÿƒ 2020 – Looking Back ๐Ÿƒ

I think no matter where you've been this year, 2020 has been a bit.....well a bit '2020' for lack of any possible other way to describe it. I count my lucky stars that this year I've been in an area that hasn't been hit as hard by Covid, from a worldwide perspective. Even when we …

Endangered Animals Calendar for 2021 – Pre-Orders and the Project

Last year when I decided to make a calendar for 2020, I had no idea just what 2020 was actually going to be like, and, seeing as most of us spent a good few months in lockdown, part of me wonders if I could have left those months out! Does anyone else feel like they …

2019 – In Review

It's crazy to think that 2019 has already come to an end. I'm really good at forgetting important things, so I thought I'd take some time to go back and pick out 19 highlights from this year and set some goals for the next century (ok that might be pushing it, maybe just for 2020)! …

Our Tour Painting – Passenger

About Our Tour At the beginning of this year, my sister, Monique Clare, invited me on a tour to perform live painting alongside herself and Joe D'Esposito. We toured for around 3 weeks down NSW, Victoria and ended in good ol' Queensland. During each show onย the tour, I worked on this painting while Joe and …

April (and a bit of March) ๐ŸŒพ

April has been a wonderful month - arriving back from Japan gave me a burst of energy and inspiration. Also because my March blog focused solely on my travel journal in Japan, I thought I'd include a few other March highlights here too. This blog is a jumbled mess so I apologise in advance for …

๐ŸŒธ Travelling in Japan in March – A Sketch a Day

Sketching Everyday In March 2019, I travelled through Japan for three weeks with my friend Bridie. I set myself a challenge - to create a small sketch for each day. I thought this would be a fairly unrealistic goal as travel is often busy, energy draining and unpredictable, however I did manage to have something …

Native Plants Calendar – Progress So Far

Beginning in January, I've been working on a project that I'm so excited to see come together. I'm creating a wall calendar that features plants that flower in each month/season of the year. I've been looking at plants native to where I live (South-East Queensland) using the GroNative app and other resources. I really wanted …

February ๐ŸŒŠ

Oh what a lovely time of year it is to spend near the ocean. The first few days of Feb were spent with my partner's family at Tugun beach. It was so good to go swimming each day and paint by the sea. IN THE STUDIO While at Tugun I worked on my calendar designs …

January 2019 โ˜€๏ธ

January has been a bigger month than I had anticipated. I've attempted to form a general plan for how this year of freelancing/doing-the-art-thing will be structured, but who knows how much that will change. I also did few weeks of house and dog sitting in a lovely bushy area early this month, which provided the …

โ€˜On your deskโ€™ is todayโ€™s #marchmeetthemaker prompt ๐Ÿ˜Š
Todayโ€™s prompt for #marchmeetthemaker is โ€˜beliefs and valuesโ€™! โ˜€๏ธ
Hello and happy March! ๐Ÿ’š I have a question - how on earth is it already March!? ๐Ÿ™ƒ
So the painting I had planned for this weekโ€™s โ€˜bird of the weekโ€™ went totally pear shaped, and I donโ€™t think thereโ€™s any saving it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿso instead, please enjoy this cute little animation by @lachlantoft of โ€˜Moth, Moon, Cockatooโ€™, which was the cover artwork for @moniqueclaremusic โ€˜s single โ€˜You Areโ€™ released last year โœจ itโ€™s a magical song! Also swipe โฌ…๏ธ for a surprise bird of the week hehehee
Very happy that this piece is finally done and dusted! โ˜€๏ธ Ready for the @grammarartshow which runs from the 26th-28th of March โ˜บ๏ธ I really enjoyed the painting process of this one, and working a bit larger than usual - thereโ€™s also something very satisfying about painting leaves! ๐ŸŒฟ Having said that I still wish I were a bit faster at painting with oils ๐Ÿ˜‚
Hey gang! Happy Friday ๐Ÿฆœ time for this weekโ€™s bird, the swift parrot! Just a quick sketch of this lovely feathered friend, always good to give yourself the challenge of a time limit to get a painting done ๐Ÿ˜‚ swipe left to see the time lapse โฌ…๏ธ Iโ€™d love to know - have you ever seen one in person? ๐Ÿฆ Hope you have a lovely weekend ahead and see some nice birds ๐Ÿ˜Œ
Happy bird of the week ๐Ÿ˜Š this week is the bush stone curlew - have you ever seen/heard one? Theyโ€™re a really unique looking bird and I love their big yellow eyes!
SHOP IS OPEN! ๐ŸŒฟโ˜บ๏ธ if youโ€™re based in Brisbane and would prefer pick up just message me so I can give you a code for pick up ๐Ÿ’š Iโ€™m so excited to finally have it up and running - I had been really burnt out after Christmas so did appreciate the break, but am ready to be packing again! ๐Ÿ˜ link is in my bio, let me know if you have any questions!
Hello! Happy weekend to you โ˜บ๏ธ Iโ€™m late again with my bird of the week but hey thatโ€™s just life ๐Ÿ™ƒ this week weโ€™re looking at the Southern Boobook ๐Ÿฆ‰ I really loved painting this piece, but I didnโ€™t get as much time to research this bird as Iโ€™d like, so if you have any cool boobook facts then please put them below!โ˜€๏ธ
