Hello! Happy belated Spring and hoping you’ve all had a good September 🙂
In the Studio
This month in the studio I’ve been working on some commissions and portfolio pieces.
I really want to expand my portfolio into the world of children’s picture books, so have been working on this Tasmanian Devil watercolour concept. It didn’t turn out perfectly, but you can have a look at the process of this artwork below. Also I’m still not great at making videos so I hope it’s not too all over the shop!
In September I was asked to install some reef themed windows for Biome in their Indooroopilly and Balmoral stores, and a clothing themed window for the Biome Collective in Paddington. So head to any of those store locations to check them out!

What’s Been On
At the beginning of September I had the opportunity to help hang the Stuartholme Art show, as well as having three pieces in the show. The opening night went so well – there was such a fabulous array of work from both emerging and established artists.

The three works I had in the show were ‘Starry Gum’, ‘Regent Honeyeater’ and ‘Blossoms and Wattle’. I was lucky enough to be able to meet all three of the buyers of these paintings, which is always really special!

Some RecommendationsTo Read:
- Some good news about the gorgeous Carnaby’s Black CockatooÂ

Artists to Check Out:
- Fred Fowler – I’ve been loving Fred’s most recent work, I mean just check out the texture and colour this one:

- Glenda McCulloch or ‘Cungelella art’. Again Glenda’s use of colour is just divine! Check out this piece.

Toowoomba Flower Festival
Although this year’s festival has now passed, I would 100% recommend visiting the Toowoomba Flower festival if you get the chance to next year. We actually went on the Monday after the even officially closed, but from what I’ve heard, it was the better day to go as there were far fewer people.
